What is Cellulite?

Cellulite refers to a condition where one has lumpy, dimpled flesh on their thighs, hips, buttocks, or stomachs. The condition is a result of fat deposits underneath the skin and is normally managed by losing weight and engaging in frequent exercise, laser and radio-frequency systems treatments, and retinol cream treatments. CBD takes an entirely different approach and holds a promise for much better results.

What Causes Cellulite?

Many things have been associated with Cellulite, particularly because they all lead to fat accumulation beneath the skin. More common among women than men, Cellulite is hugely dependent on the genetic predisposition of an individual, the percentage of body fat in their system and their age. These three factors influence the level of noticeability of Cellulite on an individual's body. How thick one's skin is also stands as a determining factor for the appearance of Cellulite, with people of all body types and weights being susceptible to the condition.

As it is more common among women than men, the distribution of fat in women is easier to spot than men. This is because of the collagen fibres existing between the skin and muscles which serve to separate the fat within into several pockets. As one grows older and their skin thinner, plus the reduced elasticity characteristic of old age, Cellulite becomes more visible. Some of the key causative factors for Cellulite include hormones, poor diet, leading an unhealthy lifestyle, toxin accumulation in the body, genetics, weight gain, inactivity and pregnancy.

As a means to managing Cellulite, topical treatments have been proposed to reduce the visibility of the condition on the skin. However, in as much as this is a tested method to prevent Cellulite, the results are not permanent, and the condition returns shortly after. One will need to apply the topical applicant daily if the results are to be maintained. The topical ointments include creams that serve to make the skin tighter and therefore smooth and firm. The cream also adds moisture, thereby reducing the appearance of cellulite on the skin.

Creams do not fight Cellulite or prevent Cellulite. On the contrary, they temporarily reduce its appearance, leaving the fats cells existing underneath the skin. One of the most common ingredients of the substances used as topical creams is caffeine, which is known to increase blood flow to the area as a diuretic. In doing so, caffeine changes the water constituent of fat, thereby reducing the appearance of the Cellulite.  Products that contain up to 0.3% of retinol can reduce Cellulite because they thicken the external layer of the skin. Therefore, you will have to use the cream daily for six months to a year for the results to start manifesting.

It is imperative to note that while retinol may show some results, the constituent is a trigger to sensitive skins, causing detrimental effects such as dryness, redness and peeling of the skin.
The best alternative to help prevent cellulite or fight cellulite is CBD. CBD and Cellulite go hand in hand, as the Cannabinoid has been tested and proven to be an effective and efficient solution for the condition.

CBD Oil bears multiple healing properties, including but not limited to promoting skin cell regeneration and the production of collagen. This leaves you with thicker, softer, clearer and healthier skin. These and many more are some of the reasons why CBD Oil is praised for its service as an anti-cellulite agent.

How can CBD fight Cellulite?

CBD Oil stands a pacesetter in the list of interventions against Cellulite. While the Cannabinoid has been derived from the Hemp Plant, it does not contain any THC-Cannabinoid known to cause high feeling. Other than its use in treating anxiety, tension, depression and pain, CBD Oil has acquired significant popularity in the beauty and skincare arena.

CBD Oil is a strong anti-oxidant that serves to improve the production of collagen within the skin. As such, CBD can noticeably influence the appearance of Cellulite. At the same time, CBD can also reduce the appearance of skin conditions like stretch marks present on the body.

With CBD being a natural enhancer for collagen production, it is certainly a preferred treatment against skin conditions. Collagen is an important compound for the skin, serving to make it look healthier and smoother. The compound also prevents cellulite development in the future as one ages and becomes older. The working mechanism of CBD revolves around its ability to make the skin have a better texture and improving its elasticity.

When using CBD as a treatment to prevent cellulite or fight cellulite that already exists, the CBD Oil should be applied daily on the target areas where Cellulite is present. This helps deliver better results. Other than that, CBD Oil is an enabler for weight loss because of its unique ability to boost the body's metabolic activity.

What does the research say?

In as much as CBD remains a rather new concept, it has been embraced for its many achievements in human health. Research is still ongoing concerning the other value-adding effects of CBD Oil as motivated by the anecdotal positive reviews that have already confessed to its healing abilities. It is imperative to note that CBD works best when you also engage in active exercise and embrace a proper and healthy diet. While CBD qualifies as the perfect supplement for diet, it should not be looked at as an alternative for diet and a solution for dietary issues.

CBD has proven to be beneficial to the skin when it is applied on a topical basis. Research has shown that CBD can bind to receptors responsible for feelings of heat, itching and pain on the skin, thus providing a soothing effect. These, among other reasons, explain why this oil is good for preventing Cellulite.
