What is ADHD?

ADHD, which stands for Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, is a mental health condition characterised by several chronic issues, including trouble paying attention, hyperactivity, and impulsive conduct.

In an earlier trial in 2017 by NIH, Sativex, a medicine containing CBD and THC cannabinoids, was used to treat people with ADHD. While the gains were limited, there was still a slight reduction in ADHD symptoms

Based on these studies, even more research is needed on the use of CBD as a treatment for ADHD. What’s good however is that most of the early studies show promise. Yes, CBD has a long way to go before it can be considered a viable ADHD therapy option, however, it does help alleviate some of the symptoms associated with the disorder.


CBD for ADHD research is limited and inconclusive. Many people, however, utilise CBD to manage their ADHD symptoms and anxiety, both of which are frequent in people with ADHD. One important point to mention if you do decide to try CBD, is that CBD is completely non-addictive.
